The Invisible Disability Card
As part of my Ethical Design module at University, I designed 'The Invisible Disability Card'.
In this module, we researched ethical issues and chose one close to our hearts to work on. My project was based around challenging public perceptions of invisible illnesses and disabilities. Through research, surveys and experimentation, I decided to create 'The Invisible Disability Card'. The aim of this is for it to be used to help those with invisible disabilities to stand up for themselves in situations where they are confronted for using disability friendly spaces.
The idea is that these cards are handed over during confrontations regarding someone with a hidden disability using disability friendly spaces, i.e. priority seats on public transport.
